The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a new funding scheme to provide support and services for people living with a disability across Australia.

Currently, the disability sector is funded using a block model where funding is allocated to organisations by local, state and federal governments.

Under the NDIS which will come into effect in 2016, money will go to individual people with disabilities who will have choice and control to develop plans of the supports they need that they can then purchase from service providers.

The NDIS will bring great changes for workers in the Disability Support Sector.

Our Union is working with government and employers to ensure the rights of workers are protected in the transition to NDIS.

13000 new jobs will be created by 2020 under the new scheme!

So we want to hear from you. Complete our quick survey and tell us something that excites you about the NDIS.

The NDIS Delegates Network is a member driven group which meets regularly to discuss issues facing workers across the disability sector with a specific focus on the roll out of the NDIS.

Delegates from disability services are connected via meetings in our head office where regional members can participate via teleconference.
