Marriage Equality Ballot Morning Tea: It’s Time!

The Services Union is proud to support marriage equality as we believe that all Australians deserve equality before the law. If you’re going to vote yes, then we need your help to ensure that people who intend to vote in favor of marriage equality actually submit their ballots.

The fact that this $122 million survey will rely on paper mail and people must physically mail back their vote using an actual real life post box may mean that people who intend to vote “Yes” simply won’t get around to dropping in their ballot.

In fact, the evidence suggests that 30 – 40 percent of people won’t submit their ballots unless someone encourages them to do so.

That’s why we’re asking YOU to download a poster, grab some workmates (or have a Morning Tea) and take a photo holding up your I’m Voting Yes Poster, between the 19 September to 6 October 2017.

Feel free to make your own ballot box for a morning tea and ask a couple of trusted Delegates or union members to drop them into the post box for you and your colleagues.

Please send your I’m Voting Yes photo/s to Media/Communications Officer at The Services Union, Belinda Hogan-Collis; belinda.hogan-collis@theservicesunion.com.au

By acting together, we can make marriage equality a reality and bring dignity and respect to tens of thousands of Australians and their families. So, have a cupcake and some cake and let’s make history.
