Nominate to Become an LGIA Super Director

Spread the Word

It’s time to think about your Superannuation and most importantly who is looking after your interests by making sure that your superannuation fund is well run.

LGIA Super has three vacancies for member representative Directors.

The term of office is four years running from 1 July 2018.

Interested?

If you are interested you must nominate using the approved nomination form by the 3 November 2017.

To qualify you must be an LGIA Super member and have your nomination supported by six other LGIA super members.

Being a Director in a Superannuation fund carries great responsibility, but also provides you with the opportunity to ensure that the fund works to improve superannuation outcomes for all members. The Services Union would like to hear from members who are interested in running for these important positions.

A number of members of the Australian Services Union nationally are directors of superannuation funds and our Union provides an opportunity to network for super fund directors.

Our Union’s National Secretary David Smith is a super fund Director (Energy Super) and is also a member of the Australian Institute of Superannuation Trustees, so we are well equipped to support members who are interested in pursuing election as a Director.

Recently our Union commissioned a major report into Superannuation and women by Per Capita entitled “Not So Super, For Women: Superannuation and Women’s Retirement Outcomes”.

You can read about the nomination process on the LGIA website by clicking here.

Or contact The Services Union at general@theservicesunion.com.au or Services Connect on (07) 3844 5300 if you would like to discuss running as a Director.
