Progress being made at Certified Agreement Negotiations

We know how hard you work every day to deliver vital services to your community. This is why our Union is doing everything we can to ensure you get the best possible outcome at the current Certified Agreement negotiations.

With the assistance of the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission, we have managed to get an improved offer from Council:

  • 6% or $75 whichever is greater;
  • 4% or $60 whichever is greater;
  • 4% or $60 whichever is greater; and
  • Plus, a $1200 sign on if agreement is reached by 10 June 2024.
On top of this we have been able to improve the telemetry call out clause to ensure members will be getting 1hour ordinary pay if a call out is less than 30 minutes and if the call out is more than 30 minutes you will get paid at the relevant penalty rate.

While the negotiations are heading in a positive direction there is still an outstanding issue for a couple trade-based Unions that are pursuing an attraction and retention allowance for their members. Due to us bargaining in the Queensland Industrial Relations system you need all parties to the agreement to agree in-principle before this Certified Agreement can go to a full employee ballot.

We remain keen to wrap this bargain up quickly and deliver the outcome that you deserve. Watch this space for a further update after this Friday’s conciliation hearing at the Commission.
