TSU raise concern with QR around proposed changes for Stations!

The Services Union met with QR Senior Management to discuss the proposed changes to Stations rostering on 18 July 2024.

In response to our questions around members’ concerns and potential issues, management provided assurances that:
  • The changes would not be significant;
  • There would be no loss of income; and
  • Stations Staff would be working better shifts.
Management also stated that shifts would be backfilled in cases of illness except where impracticable to do so.

Our Union has corresponded with QR seeking written confirmation of these principles and requesting further details of the proposed changes. We made it clear in our correspondence that The Services Union has not agreed to any proposed rostering alterations and will not be in a position to do so without further consultation.

What happens next?

Management advised that it would release the first version of the proposed changes today, Monday 22 July 2024, with further versions being released on the two following Mondays. Management will consult with our Union on a weekly basis to work through any member concerns arising from the proposed changes.
