Gladstone Certified Agreement Update No.3: We want a bigger bucket!

When it comes to negotiating wages and conditions at Gladstone Regional Council, The Services Union is always by your side to ensure you get the package you deserve.

Council have agreed to our Union’s claim for paid superannuation for the primary caregiver for the paid and unpaid component, up to 12 months. In-depth discussion also took place around improvements to the on-call allowance – we will discuss this with impacted members as the Council’s proposal was to trade off accrued annual leave during on-call work.

There is a big gap between the Council’s financial position and the unions. We do not accept “the bucket” of 15% over 3 years offered, which means any improvements in superannuation, allowances or leave is taken from that sum. We say the Council need to invest in a bigger bucket!

At the fourth CA meeting on 31 July, the Council will be coming prepared with a full response to each claim and providing costings. Watch this space for further updates.

In the meantime please direct any questions to your workplace Delegates: Cristelle Anderson, April Voysey, Shane Wieland, Josh Lovi, Jane Doran or your Organiser [email protected] .
